Steel prices increased by 100-200 thousand VND / ton

(Construction) - According to a report by the Ministry of Construction, steel prices in the second quarter of 2019 increased by VND 100,000 - 200,000 per ton, equivalent to an increase of 1-2% compared to the first quarter of 2019.

Steel prices increased due to high prices of raw materials.
The cause of steel price increases due to rising electricity prices, because in steel production, electricity prices often account for 8-9%. In addition, the price of iron ore remains high and the price of gasoline and gas increases also causes steel companies to raise prices.


Popular retail price of steel compared to the first quarter of 2019 in the Northern and Central provinces ranged from 13,300 to 15,500 VND / kg, an average increase of 2%; in the southern provinces, fluctuating at VND 13,300 - VND 16,200 / kg, an average increase of 1%.


The average selling price of some steel finished products is as follows: Coil of 6mm, 8mm and 10mmm are 14.5 - 14.84 million VND / ton; Rebar is 14.5 - 15 million VND / ton.
